After finally getting Little M to nap in her cot and sleep through at night, I now feel as though I spend most of my time waiting for her to wake up so that we can leave the house! She only has two naps during the day, but sometimes her 9am nap will stretch to 11am, and her midday nap ends up ending at almost 3pm! By the time she’s then taken an absolute age to have lunch, there’s hardly time to do anything at all, especially if I need to start cooking dinner.
Last Thursday, though, I was determined to go out. I’d heard H&M had a really good sale on and wanted to see if I could pick up any bargains for Little M as I really like some of their children’s wear. We didn’t manage to leave the house until almost 4pm! I was on a mission, though, and while I didn’t find anything for Little M (whoops!), I did purchase myself a jumper for £7, which I’ve virtually lived in since I bought it. Bargain!
Hubby was on a school residential for the day (as management he didn’t need to stay over, but was overseeing operations during the day!) so was out for dinner. I decided to treat myself so Little M and I had a mummy daughter date at Ask Italian. I love Ask because they have such a good gluten free menu; I never need to worry about finding something tasty (and safe) to eat when I’m there. I took an Ella’s Kitchen pouch with me for Little M as she’s always happy with one of those. I also made sure I took the Hybrid Stroller with me as it takes up so little space
This week’s Living Arrows photo is of Little M in the high chair at Ask. It was a bit big for her (I suppose they have to make them one size fits all) so I shoved a couple of blankets behind her to keep her a little more upright. She was so well behaved while we were there. I must admit I did feel a bit like a super mum but to be honest I think her good behaviour is just down to her personality. She can be very strong willed at times so I’m sure she’ll have a very public meltdown at some point!
It was just as well I decided to be lazy and eat out as hubby sent me a text while we were there to say that he was in A&E with a little girl who’d managed to get a stick in her eye! Fortunately she was totally fine but it meant that Little M was asleep before he got home. I’ve never seen him so upset as when he realised he’d missed her. At least it meant that he came home early the next day to have a bit of extra time with her. And now it’s the holidays so we get to have time together as a family every day for two whole weeks. Hurrah!
