Living Arrows {2018} 1/53

Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.

We’ve had a busy week this week; we’ve taken the Christmas decorations down, made a start to sorting out the spare room ready for the new baby’s arrival in the Spring, I’ve enquired about having our loft space boarded out to give us some extra storage and we’ve been doing the rounds with family over the festive period.

It’s such a busy time, but we’ve made time to spend time together just us, as our little family. On Thursday, we ventured into Thetford Forest for a walk and a play on the park at High Lodge. They have such a brilliant playground there, not to mention the Gruffalo Trail and now the Highway Rat Trail, and all for the cost of parking. We are considering buying a Discovery Pass for High Lodge as we enjoy it so much, and think it will be a good place to visit once the baby arrives, too!

This week’s photograph was taken during our visit to High Lodge, and on my fancy pants new camera, to boot! I haven’t taken it off auto yet, and lots of the photos from the day came out blurry, so I still have some learning to do, but I’m pretty chuffed with this one!

High Lodge Thetford Forest

Last time we visited High Lodge a couple of months ago, Little M refused to even leave Hubby’s arms to have a look down this tunnel. This time, she was prepared to peer in, but that was about it! I love the way she’s standing, and the interaction between her and her daddy – in the next photo he’s bending down to pick her up and you can tell she’s relieved to be getting out of there! Little M is a cautious little thing, but hopefully next time she’ll be prepared to walk through it – or at least step inside!

What a lovely photo. You can tell she’s trying to be so brave but likes having daddy there.

Thank you. She’s definitely very interested but does take her time to warm up to things!

So exciting that your family will be changing this year! I’ve had a fancy camera for three years now and still haven’t made it off auto – and still take blurry photos, oops!

Haha – I’m not sure when I’ll make it off auto – it all sounds like Dutch to me at the moment!

As much as I love Christmas, taking down the decs makes your house feel so much fresher doesn’t it? This is a fab photo, good luck with your new camera, I’m very jealous! #livingarrows

I don’t think it’s an interactive one like the Gruffalo ones, but I know you can buy an activity pack for it at our local forest.

I bet after a few more visits she will will be running through that tunnel ! We have a Gruffalo trail by us but haven’t got round to doing it yet, we really must. #LivingArrows

Oh you should, it’s really fun! Just be aware that if you use the app (which you should, it’s free and great!) that it drains your battery really quickly, so definitely worth taking a power pack/making sure your phone is fully charged before you get there!

A lovely picture, she is getting so big! I guarantee by the time the next one comes along she won’t be nearly so cautious and she will transform overnight!

What a lovely photo. You can tell that she is intrigued by the tunnel but wants her daddy there for reassurance.
