Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
This week we’ve been getting the paint out and doing some crafting so that I can get ahead on my Pondering Playtime posts before the new baby arrives. I can report that it is no mean feat trying to help your toddler paint whilst operating a camera at the same time, even with the use of a tripod and remote!
M loved using a stamper sponge to paint with, but was less sure about doing hand prints – I’m not sure that anything we produced looks like a hand print, but I’m resourceful so I’m sure I can work with what we’ve got! I’m really excited to share my ideas for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day crafts, but you’ll have to wait until next month to see! I’m really enjoying creating the series and it’s lovely to see how much fun M is having trying out the different activities I’m setting up for her, which, if you’ve read my 18 Goals for 2018 post, is my main reason for doing it!
We’ve made it to two classes this week; Bop Tots on Tuesday and Tiny Talk on Thursday. M was still pretty clingy during the singing and dancing bits, but once the toys come out she gets stuck in there! Fortunately, she has gone back to her napping ways in the past week so I’m hoping the week before was just a blip. I’m working Wednesday and Thursday this week, though, so I’m hoping that doesn’t affect her too badly. I love doing supply, but it doesn’t really help with consistency of routine. Fortunately M loves it when her grandparents come to look after her, though, so I don’t feel too guilty!
