Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
Last week, we kept ourselves really busy. I tried to get the girls out of the house every day, so we spent a couple of mornings this week in Norwich.
M loves the main city children’s library, so we took trips there on both days to change our library books and discover some new authors. M is particularly enjoying Anthony Browne’s books featuring gorillas at the moment, although I think her current favourite is The Tiger Who Came To Tea by Judith Kerr.
On Saturday, we ventured into London as a family to attend the launch of some new toys. We parked at Westfield Stratford, as it’s ideal for us to get to from home and always has plenty of parking. So, after the event we returned to Westfield for some lunch at Jamie’s Italian, which is where both of this week’s photographs were taken.
M asked for a straw in her milk (Matthew and I both had mocktails, which had straws, so she wanted one too) and I think she found the milk to be the most exciting part of the visit!
B, meanwhile, was just thrilled to be in a high chair instead of sitting on my lap or being left in her pram. This is the first time we’ve had both girls in high chairs in public, and it was actually more successful than I was expecting. Of course B soaked herself with water and covered herself in food, requiring a complete change of clothes, but at least she tried!
Next week, M has got her 2-2.5 year check with the health visitor, and we’ve got lots of other things planned, too. A busy week ahead!
