Living Arrows {2018} 46/53

Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.

I’ve been looking back through my phone and camera to find some photographs for this post, and I’m amazed at how much we’ve done in the past week! We’ve had lunch dates with friends, trips to the Dinosaur Park and we’ve been busy making star decorations in (very early!) preparation for Christmas.

Then at the weekend we had a lovely family photoshoot with Beth Moseley Photography – we’re reviewing her new mini family photoshoots and I cannot wait to see the edited photographs! After we’d finished having fun with Beth, we went to Dotty Pottery to make a Christmas bauble for B. We bought one for M back in 2016, so I wanted B to have one, too. At Dotty Pottery they print your child’s feet onto a bauble, turn the footprints into reindeers and write whatever message you’d like on them. Such a lovely keepsake and they are so well made. I love getting M’s bauble out each year, so couldn’t let B go without.

This week’s photo of B was taken early in the week. I’ve spent most of the last week calling her ‘Baby Shark’ as she’s had four (!!) teeth coming through all at the same time. Looking back at last week’s Living Arrows post, I thought there was just one coming through. I now understand why B has been so unsettled during the night for the past couple of weeks! Thankfully, I think they’re all just about cut through now, so hopefully this week will bring a bit more sleep for both of us.

B has also been progressing a little more towards crawling, and has started to sort of commando-drag herself along to propel herself forwards to get things. Every week I think she’s about to properly crawl, and she still hasn’t quite got there yet. I don’t think it will be long now though; she’s definitely going in the right direction. (That pun wasn’t actually intended, but I’m keeping it anyway.)

M’s photograph was taken last Monday at the park. I encouraged her to play in the leaves and she went from tentatively shuffling them with her feet, to throwing them in the air. I love this photograph as it just sums up autumn for me. M is really fun to be around at the moment and it’s lovely to see her exploring through the different seasons.

This week we haven’t really got any plans, so I’m looking forward to having some chill out time. Having said that, I’m sure I’ll be desperate to get out of the house by Monday afternoon, so watch this space!

A weekly photo diary of our daughters' lives at seven months and two and a half years old. This week we've started thinking about Christmas!

Lovely pictures of your girls as always! Both mine always seemed to get loads of teeth at the same time, it’s hard work at the time but at least it gets it over with a bit quicker! #LivingArrows

Oh that photo of B is so beautiful – she’s really growing! It sounds like you have done so much this week – and are really getting ready for Christmas too! x

It’s funny how some weeks are just manic and then others feel empty! I’m definitely feeling Christmassy already which is so unlike me – I hope it doesn’t wear off before the big day! x
