Pregnancy Diary Week 30

This week of my pregnancy has been all about getting the house ready for baby’s arrival.

It’s never just as simple as clearing out whichever room is going to be the nursery, is it?! We had to empty our study to turn it into a spare room so that in turn, the old spare room could become the new nursery. It was a bit of an ordeal, which you can read about here if you’d like to.
We also had the decorator in painting our stairs and landings for most of the week. It’s so lovely having fresh new paintwork and a new colour.

On Saturday we had some of the furniture for the nursery delivered. It would be an understatement to say that hubby isn’t a fan of flat pack furniture but together we figured it out! We’ve still got some more furniture and all of the bits and bobs for decor to buy so I’ll save what we’ve done so far for the final ‘reveal’ post!

We’ve also bought a couple more baby grows. I’m feeling in a slightly weird limbo between thinking it’s too early to buy lots but not wanting to be underprepared. I think I’ll feel better once the furniture is in place in the nursery; I’m thinking it will all feel a bit more ‘real’ then!

I’m starting to think I need to have my hospital bag ready, just in case, but I have absolutely no idea what to pack in it! I think this will be my job to work out this coming week. A lot of websites seem to suggest lists but I don’t know how essential some things are or whether they have just been included for marketing purposes!

Once I’ve sussed it out I’ll write a post but in the meantime, if any of you mummies or daddies out there have any must-have items then I’d love to hear about them in the comments!

Have a look on YouTube for some “what’s in my hospital bag” videos. A good, up to date one is from Charlotte Louise Taylor (Write Like No one’s Watching). Good luck!

Hehe it’s never too early to buy babygros! It’s seriously countdown down for you. My labour was really quick and I was only in hospital overnight. The things I used were my nightie, my blanket and cushion for some home comforts, some nappies and wipes, a couple of babygros, a baby blanket and hat. And for labour take Ribenas with a straw, and Nutrigrain bars for after when you will be starving! xx

How exciting! It sounds like things are coming along really well. I remember being at this stage the first time around when we were expecting our little lady and how exciting it was to decorate and get her room set up. I cant wait to see your reveal post, I’m sure it will all be very lovely 🙂 Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. Emily
